Lead capture lets you collect contact information from people who view your tours. When enabled, a form appears on the intro or outro of your tour — viewers fill it in before or after experiencing your content, and their submissions are stored in Layerpath for you to review and export.

How lead capture works

When a viewer opens your tour, they see a form overlay asking for their details. After submitting the form, they proceed into the tour (or see a thank-you screen on the outro). Every submission is saved as a lead in your tour’s Insights panel.

Enabling lead capture

1

Open your tour in the editor

From your dashboard, open the tour you want to add lead capture to.
2

Open the intro or outro step settings

Select the intro or outro step in the step list. In the step settings panel, look for the Lead capture or Form option.
3

Enable the lead form

Toggle lead capture on. A form overlay is added to the step automatically.
4

Configure your form fields

Choose which fields to include. The default fields are:
  • Email (required by default)
  • First name
  • Last name
You can also add optional fields such as Phone, Role, and Feedback depending on what information you need.
5

Save and republish

Save your changes and republish the tour. The form will appear for all new visitors.
Lead capture only applies to published tours. Viewers who access an unpublished tour preview will not see the form and their visits will not be recorded as leads.

Viewing your leads

All form submissions are available in the Leads tab of your tour’s Insights panel.
1

Open the tour's Insights panel

From your dashboard, open the demo and click Insights in the top navigation.
2

Go to the Leads tab

Click Leads in the Insights navigation to see a table of all submissions.
The leads table includes the following columns for each submission:
ColumnDescription
First nameViewer’s first name if provided
Last nameViewer’s last name if provided
EmailViewer’s email address
PhonePhone number if the field was enabled
RoleRole or job title if the field was enabled
FeedbackFree-text feedback if the field was enabled
OSOperating system the viewer used
DeviceDevice type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
CountryViewer’s country

Exporting leads

You can export your leads as a CSV file for use in a spreadsheet or to import into another tool.
1

Open the Leads tab

Navigate to Insights → Leads for the tour you want to export.
2

Click Export CSV

Click Export CSV in the top-right corner of the leads table. A CSV file downloads automatically containing all current leads.
Export your leads regularly if you are running a time-limited campaign, since the export always reflects the current state of submissions at the time of download.

Pushing leads to your CRM

In addition to manual CSV exports, you can push lead data to external tools using Layerpath’s webhook or integration support.
Layerpath can send lead submission events to a webhook URL of your choice. Each time a viewer submits the form, Layerpath sends a POST request to your endpoint with the lead data as a JSON payload. You can use this to write leads directly into HubSpot, Salesforce, or any CRM that accepts webhook inputs.
Layerpath’s integrations allow you to connect to popular tools without writing code. Check the Integrations section of your workspace settings to see the current list of supported connections.

Lead generation metrics in Insights

When lead capture is enabled on a tour, the tour’s Insights overview shows two additional metric cards:
  • Leads — the total number of form submissions in the selected time period
  • Lead rate — the percentage of viewers who submitted the form
These replace the Watch rate card when lead capture is active, so you can track lead generation performance alongside viewer engagement.
