Layerpath turns a single screen recording into three content types — a Tour, a Guide, and a Video — automatically. Follow the steps below to go from sign-up to a shareable demo.

Sign up

Go to layerpath.com and create a free account. You can sign up with Google or your work email.After signing in, Layerpath creates a default Workspace for you. You can invite teammates to your Workspace later.

Install the Chrome extension

Layerpath records your screen through a Chrome extension.
  1. In the onboarding flow, click Install extension. This opens the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Click Add to Chrome, then confirm by clicking Add extension.
  3. Pin the extension to your toolbar for quick access.
The extension only works in Google Chrome. Make sure you are using Chrome before recording.

Record your screen

  1. Navigate to the page or flow you want to capture.
  2. Click the Layerpath extension icon in your Chrome toolbar.
  3. Choose what to capture — your current tab or your entire screen.
  4. Click Start recording and walk through the product flow you want to demo.
  5. Click the extension icon again and select Stop recording when you’re done.
Your recording is uploaded automatically and you’re taken to the new demo screen.

Create your first demo

After your recording uploads, Layerpath processes it and generates all three content types from one recording:

Tour

Interactive click-through walkthrough with hotspots and tooltips on each step.

Guide

Scrollable step-by-step document combining annotated screenshots and text.

Video

Polished video with zoom effects and optional AI voiceover.
Select the content type you want to edit first. You can switch between Tour, Guide, and Video at any time from within the same demo.

Customize and publish

In the editor:
  • Add or edit text annotations on each step.
  • Apply your brand colors and logo using your Brandkit.
  • For Videos, add an AI voiceover by clicking Add voiceover in the editor toolbar.
When you’re ready to share, click Publish in the top-right corner. Layerpath generates a shareable link.
You can also embed your demo on any website using the embed code from the Share panel.
