A demo is the top-level container in Layerpath. Every time you record your screen or upload content, Layerpath creates a demo. Inside each demo you can have a Tour, a Guide, and a Video — all generated from the same recording. Think of a demo as a project that holds all the formats of a single piece of content. You edit, publish, and share at the demo level.

Dashboard views

Your demos appear in the dashboard under three views:
ViewWhat it shows
My demosDemos you created in the current Workspace.
Shared with meDemos other workspace members have shared directly with you.
TeamAll demos in the Workspace. Visible to Admins and Editors.
Use the tabs at the top of the dashboard to switch between views.

Demo states

Every demo is either Published or Unpublished.

Unpublished

The demo is private. Only workspace members with access can view it. No public link is available.

Published

The demo is live. Anyone with the link can view it. Embed codes and shareable URLs become active when a demo is published.
To change a demo’s state, open the demo and click Publish or Unpublish in the top-right corner of the editor.
Unpublishing a demo immediately deactivates any links or embeds you have already shared. Anyone who visits those links will see a “not found” message.

Playlists

Playlists let you group multiple demos together and share them as a collection. They are useful for organizing demos by use case, audience, or product area — for example, grouping all onboarding demos or all feature announcement demos. To create a playlist:
  1. In the dashboard, click New playlist.
  2. Give it a name and add demos from your library.
  3. Publish the playlist to generate a shareable link.
Viewers who open the playlist link can browse all demos in the collection in sequence.
Playlists are a great way to create a demo hub or a self-serve onboarding flow. Combine Tours, Guides, and Videos in a single playlist to give prospects or new users multiple ways to explore your product.

Managing demos

From the dashboard, you can right-click any demo card to access quick actions:
  • Rename — change the demo title.
  • Duplicate — create a copy of the demo and all its content.
  • Move to playlist — add the demo to an existing playlist.
  • Delete — permanently remove the demo. This cannot be undone.
Deleting a demo also deletes all Tours, Guides, and Videos inside it. Published links and embeds stop working immediately.
