Every demo you create starts in the Unpublished state. Publishing generates a shareable link so anyone with the URL can view your demo — no Layerpath account required.
Published vs. Unpublished
| State | What it means |
|---|
| Unpublished | The demo is private. Only workspace members can access it in the editor. No public link exists. |
| Published | The demo is live. A public share link is active and anyone with it can view the demo. |
How to publish a demo
Open the demo
From your dashboard, open the Tour, Guide, or Video you want to share.
Click Publish
Click the Publish button in the top-right corner of the editor toolbar.
Copy the share link
Once published, a share link is generated. Copy it from the share panel to send directly to viewers.
Publishing does not notify anyone automatically. You share the link with the people you want to see the demo.
Share link format
Your public share link follows this pattern:
https://share.layerpath.com/share/<demo-id>/tour
https://share.layerpath.com/share/<demo-id>/guide
https://share.layerpath.com/share/<demo-id>/video
If you have configured a custom subdomain or custom domain, the link uses your branded URL instead. See Custom Domain for details.
Sharing with team members
Workspace members with the Editor or Admin role can access any demo directly from the dashboard without a public link. Share the public link only when you want to reach people outside your Workspace, such as prospects, customers, or external stakeholders.
To share internally with a colleague who has a Viewer role, use the public share link — Viewers can open published demos but cannot edit them.
How to unpublish a demo
Unpublishing immediately deactivates the share link. Anyone who visits the old URL will no longer be able to view the demo.
Open the demo
Navigate to the demo in your dashboard and open it in the editor.
Click Unpublish
Click the Unpublish button in the editor toolbar. The demo returns to the Unpublished state.
Unpublishing is instant. If you have already shared the link externally, recipients will lose access immediately.
